4 Cheese Lasagna Dip

4 Cheese Lasagna Dip is a warm, cheesy appetizer that combines the comforting flavors of classic Italian lasagna into a creamy, gooey dip perfect for sharing. Featuring ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, and provolone cheeses blended with savory marinara sauce and seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic, this dip is easy to prepare, versatile, and ideal for parties, game nights, or cozy evenings at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheeses

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk recommended)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded provolone cheese

Flavorings and Sauce

  • 1 cup marinara sauce, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing or drizzling)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)

Optional Garnishes and Add-ins

  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini (for vegetarian variation)
  • Chopped jalapeños or hot Italian sausage (for spicy twist)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheeses: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and shredded provolone cheese. Mix well until evenly blended to create a uniform cheesy base.
  2. Add Flavorings: Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning into the cheese mixture to infuse it with warm, herby notes reminiscent of classic lasagna flavors.
  3. Layer the Dip: Spread half of the marinara sauce onto the bottom of a baking dish. Evenly spread the entire cheese mixture on top of the sauce layer. Finally, spoon the remaining marinara sauce over the cheese layer.
  4. Bake Until Bubbly: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the dip is hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the dip from the oven and optionally sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers such as toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated cheese for the best melting and flavor; avoid pre-shredded cheese with anti-caking agents.
  • Do not overload the marinara sauce to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  • Use whole milk ricotta for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Allow the dip to cool slightly before serving to help it thicken and make scooping easier.
  • To customize texture, add small diced cooked sausage or chopped vegetables for a chunkier dip.
