Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 soft flour or whole wheat tortilla wraps
  • 4 crispy bacon strips
  • 1 cup fresh romaine lettuce leaves, washed and dried
  • 1 medium ripe red tomato, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or aioli
  • Optional: 1/2 avocado, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the Bacon: Fry the bacon strips on medium heat until crispy. Remove and place them on paper towels to drain excess grease and cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce leaves. Slice the tomatoes into thin, even rounds to maintain juiciness without sogginess.
  3. Assemble the Wrap: Lay a tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous, even layer of mayonnaise or aioli across the tortilla. Next, layer the lettuce leaves, followed by the tomato slices, and then the crispy bacon strips. Add sliced avocado if using.
  4. Roll it Up: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then tightly roll it from one end to the other to secure the ingredients and create a neat wrap.
  5. Slice and Serve: Use a sharp knife to cut the wrap diagonally in half, revealing the colorful layers inside. Serve immediately or wrap for later consumption.

Notes

  • Keep lettuce and tomatoes dry to prevent sogginess.
  • Warm tortillas slightly before assembling to make rolling easier and prevent cracking.
  • Use thick-cut bacon for better texture and chewiness.
  • Spread sauces evenly to avoid overpowering flavors.
  • Wrap tightly to keep ingredients secure while eating.
