Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent roll dough (8 oz)
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Toppings and Variations

  • Cinnamon sugar (1 teaspoon cinnamon mixed with 1 tablespoon sugar)
  • Chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts, 1/4 cup)
  • Fruit preserves (2 tablespoons)
  • Fresh or frozen berries (1/4 cup)
  • Mini chocolate chips (1/4 cup)
  • Nutella (1 tablespoon)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy with no lumps, ensuring a perfect filling texture.
  2. Unroll the Crescent Dough: Carefully lay the crescent roll dough triangles on a clean surface or parchment-lined baking sheet, keeping them intact for easy filling.
  3. Add the Filling: Spoon a generous amount of the cheesecake filling onto the wide end of each crescent triangle, spreading evenly but leaving space at edges to prevent leaks during baking.
  4. Roll and Shape: Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the point, gently pressing edges together to seal the filling inside securely.
  5. Add Toppings and Bake: Place the filled rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle toppings such as cinnamon sugar or chopped nuts on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes, until golden and puffed.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth, lump-free filling.
  • Do not overfill the rolls to avoid leaks and uneven baking.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and to ensure even browning.
  • For a glossy, golden crust, brush the rolls lightly with beaten egg before baking.
  • Let rolls cool slightly before serving to allow the filling to set and to avoid burns.
