Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mandarins: Carefully peel the mandarins, keeping each segment whole and intact. Remove all bits of pith to ensure the chocolate adheres smoothly without lumps.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, gently melt the chocolate, stirring frequently until smooth and creamy. Optionally add coconut oil to enhance texture and shine.
  3. Dip the Mandarins: Using a fork or skewer, dip each mandarin segment into the melted chocolate, covering about half to three-quarters of the fruit. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl for a neat coating.
  4. Add Toppings (Optional): Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle your chosen toppings such as crushed nuts or sea salt to add crunch and flavor contrast.
  5. Let Them Set: Place the dipped mandarins on parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes until the chocolate hardens and the fruit stays fresh.
