Steak
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, sliced thinly
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1–2 tbsp butter or oil, for searing
Pasta
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- Salt, for pasta water
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish
- Prepare the Steak: Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add butter or oil, and sear the steak for 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove from pan and let rest before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Cook the Fettuccine: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the fettuccine until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving a little pasta water, and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant but not browned, about 1 minute. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add grated parmesan cheese and whisk until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Pasta and Steak: Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce, tossing gently to coat the noodles evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired creamy consistency is reached. Fold in the sliced steak to warm through.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top and serve immediately while warm and indulgent.
Notes
- Rest your steak after cooking to retain juices and tenderness.
- Cook pasta to al dente for ideal texture.
- Use fresh garlic for a vibrant and sharp flavor.
- Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency without diluting flavor.
- Simmer cream and cheese gently to avoid curdling and maintain a silky sauce.
