Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chipotle Aioli: In a small bowl, blend mayonnaise, finely chopped chipotle peppers, lime juice, and chopped cilantro until smooth and creamy. Set aside to let flavors meld.
  2. Make the Chicken Patty Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, garlic powder, smoked paprika, finely chopped chipotle pepper, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, and the egg. Mix gently but thoroughly to evenly distribute spices without overworking the meat.
  3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a thick burger patty. Press a shallow indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  4. Cook the Patties: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through to 165°F (74°C) internal temperature.
  5. Assemble Your Burgers: Lightly toast the burger buns. Spread a generous amount of chipotle aioli on both halves. Place the cooked chicken patty on the bottom bun, add optional toppings like avocado, lettuce, or tomato, then top with the bun crown. Serve immediately.
